Jon will be working with both the boys 17-1s and the Mavericks Volleyball 4 Fun program in 2010.
Jon began his volleyball career as a player in high school back in 1995. As his passion increased, so did his desire to study and teach the sport. Jon served as a grad assistant with the Lubbock Christian University Volleyball organization (1997-2002). He has coached clubs in Lubbock, TX, Austin, TX, Houston, TX, and Atascocita, TX. Jon helped the Houston Volleyball Boys Academy get on its feet and has served that club for over 5 years. Jon remains cutting edge in his coaching and has a strong desire to see great players become greater. He believes that volleyball should be learned “from the inside out” – in other words, all one has to do is simply want to play the game. He has a no-nonsense approach to teaching and prides himself for being a very funny guy.
Jon is married to Alicia and has one child – an English Bulldog, Mei Mei. and lives in Redlands, CA. He works part time in a church and loves Southern California.
