Nichole May will be assistant to Phil Sutherland with the 13-1s. Nichole played club volleyball at the Mavericks for 5 years, all on "1" level teams. She was primarily a setter, but hit right side as well and demonstrated tremendous all-around skill. Nichole played 4 years of varsity volleyball at Centennial High School where she holds school records in aces, assists, digs and kills. She was named M.V.P. of the Hemet Tournament as a freshman, chosen as a Top 50 player on both PrepVolleyball.com and on MaxPreps. Nichole was named to both the All-C.I.F. and All-Area teams as a senior. She has a tied national high school record for 44 kills in a match. Under the coaching of Phil Sutherland, Nichole was named to the all-tournament team at Junior Olympics as a setter/right side hitter her sophomore year (finishing 5th place). She currently plays at Irvine Valley College and leads the team in serve receive percentage. 2010 will be Nichole's 4th year coaching for the Mavericks.
